D'Elia Guarnieri

D’Elia founded Strategy Tutoring after almost a decade of tutoring high school subjects and standardized tests, and helping students find their voices in college essays. After scoring a composite 36 on the ACT, she developed a teaching method that trained students to think like the test, and quickly realized that this concept of “learning how to learn” was applicable to every subject.

She’s raised SAT scores by 400 points, ACT scores by 15 points, and academic subject grades from C’s to A’s. She believes that students can go anywhere, no matter where they start, with support, encouragement, and habit adjustment. D’Elia’s students have found success at Yale, Stanford, Duke, Cornell, Brown, Dartmouth, UPenn, Northwestern, UC Berkeley, UCLA and dozens of other top universities.

D’Elia grew up in historic Williamsburg, Virginia. She moved to New York to earn her Bachelor’s degree in Dramatic Writing from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts before settling in sunny Santa Monica, California. D’Elia enjoys distance running and entertaining the people around her. She focuses on learning the most about her students and can genuinely say that she has never met a student she did not like.
